2026 show coming

AUGUST 27 - 29

Thursday, Friday & Saturday

We are busy planning the 2026 show. Dates are set and plans are underway. We will be updating the website and social media as items get finalized. Don’t forget to book your hotel stay early.

This year we are working on online registrations for side by sides, camping, vendors, etc. We will let you know as those items roll out.

In 2005, SouthWestern Illinois College (SWIC) had an equine seminar on different horse breeds. Jim Buzzard and Tom Renner Jr were asked to do some demonstrations. Jim demonstrated how to plow with 6 horses and Tom demonstrated the techniques of harnessing and hitching draft horses.

At the start of this adventure, Jim and Tom were unknown to each other. But their friendship grew over the love of horses and before long there were a larger group of horse enthusiast that were taking turns plowing at each others farms. These events started to draw a crowd and a a kettle of chili and a huge pot of beef and noodles wouldn’t feed everyone. And the crowd kept growning.

It didn’t take long and friends and business associates were approaching Tom and asking if they could invite customers and they would pitch in on the food. So the group of planners grew to 6 and then to 10. In 2018, Merideth Adams (A representative for Dekalb) named the show “The 100 Years of Horsepower”. Now the steering committee is comprised of about 20 individuals, the sponsors are 50+, and the hard working volunteers that put on the show exceed 100.

People come from all over to spend 3 days in the fields and barns on this beautiful southern Illinois 7th generation farm. The 2024 show drew people from 41 states and 12 countries.

100 Years of Horsepower is a 501(c)(3) organization. Thank you for your support and hope to see you at the show.

What are others saying about the 2024 show?

  • I was very excited to attend my first 100 years of Horsepower at the Renner Farm . What an amazing FREE EVENT !!! It was nice to be greeted from the parking lot with the tractor drawn wagon, which was available all day , at no cost, to get from place to place. Allowing people to bring in their side-by-sides made the place buzzing with excitement! There was so much to see . Threshing corn picking , plowing, Lumber milling, and so much more. The museum was amazing! What a beautiful collection of Horse drawn implements, tractors and so much more! Much thanks goes out to ALL the sponsors , event coordinators and the Renner Family for hosting this incredible event ! Looking forward to the next one in 2026 !!!

  • I just wanted to take a moment to thank Tom and the entire Renner Family for hosting this show/event 2024. I was beyond thrilled to see all of the tractors and equipment at the show. It was well beyond my expectations which includes the Helicopter Rides! I can't think of anything to critique or improvements that could be made. The event was very organized and laid out. Again; thankyou to the Renner's for your hospitality.

  • Show was amazing . This is my second comment sorry about that. I can not imagine anything else to improve it but if there was something that you wanted I am sure you could reach out. Everyone loved it is talking about and wants it to continue if there is a specific tractor or implement that you don't have access to but would like to have at show I think most people would be willing to help make it happen

  • Loved the show.

  • The show was amazing thank you so much for putting on such a event. I don't know how you could do any better. Hope you continue having it I would pay alot more if necessary to keep it going. I would like to see a plow class showing people how set there plows and show them when parts are worn and need replace. Your knowledge is amazing people would pay to receive your instruction

  • This was an awesome event. I took my wife, daughter and my 3 grandchildren. I can’t imagine improving on anything. Parking and driving my golf cart around the grounds was perfect. My hats off to the Tenner family for putting on such a tremendous show.

  • in my opinion, you did everything correct! I was very happy with the whole event. Best event I have been to. i will definitely waiting for the next one. who knows maybe I will bring my G1000 and plow for the plowing event. Thanks for an awesome event!

  • I enjoy the show
